TA Playlist for February 2018 is Live with Ryse: Son of Rome

By Mark Delaney, 1 year ago
They say when in Rome to do as the Romans do. All during February we'll be taking that to heart with Crytek's Xbox One launch exclusive, Ryse: Son of Rome. The hack-and-slash action game beat out three others a few weeks ago to be our second TA Playlist game of the year.

Ryse launched alongside Microsoft's latest console to middling reviews, averaging a 60 on Metacritic. Our community has been much more generous toward the game, giving it a solid 4/5 rating on site. It also won our site award for Best Action Game in 2013.

The story mode takes about 7 hours to complete and exists as an interesting relic of its time in some ways, with optional Smartglass and Kinect support front and center in the game experience. It also offers a multiplayer suite of competitive modes. During the month we'll be setting up and joining gaming sessions to play together, so be sure to look out for those, plus story chatter, game clips, and much more in the TA Playlist Hub.

If you want to follow an achievement walkthrough, we have one on site that should help greatly, courtesy of drub4n (edited by Dang3R Gaming with contributions from Ergo Me Smart and Finch O). Ryse was a Games with Gold title last year, so check your Ready to Install list before tracking it down elsewhere. You may already have a copy!

All of this also means our month of HITMAN has come to an end. We thank you guys for joining us as so many of you do each and every month. We'll have our latest episode of the TA Playlist Podcast online shortly so look for it in your podcast app of choice or find it right here on site.
