Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
events don't usually create a huge amount of buzz, but the upcoming Operation Chimera and its related Outbreak event is breaking the mould. The co-op event will see players face off against a mysterious infestation in a quarantined town in New Mexico. The new enemy, who prefers close quarters combat, means that players will need to change up their tactics, as well as get used to the two new operators that will be introduced to the character roster. Ubisoft has published a series of trailers to help players with that, before the mode is released next month.
The two new operators are Lion and Finka, and they're Elite members of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Threat Unit. Both are also biohazard specialists for their respective counter-terrorism units, Lion for the French unit and Finka for the Russian unit. Meet the pair in the first trailer below.
Lion's specialism is that it is difficult for defenders to hide their movements thanks to an indestructible drone. Meanwhile, Finka's adrenal surge ability offers boosts to her team, such as increased health, reduced recoil, or even the ability to see through walls. Take a closer look at these characters' abilities in the second trailer below:
In the third trailer of the day, you can get a better look at the Outbreak game mode and the enemies you'll be facing within.
The final trailer gives you some gameplay tips for facing the variety of new threats in the large maps.
The game mode and the new operators are available now for PC players. Console players will have to wait until March 6th to get their hands on the upcoming content.
