TA Playlist for March 2018 is Live with Fable II - Plus Win a $50 Xbox Gift Card

By Mark Delaney,
A win by just six votes is the smallest margin of victory of any TA Playlist poll, but it's enough to get Lionhead's Fable II in the spotlight throughout March. The latest TA Playlist game kicks off today and runs all month long.

Fable II is backwards compatible from the Xbox 360. It launched in 2008 to unanimous high praise. Its Metacritic score remains at an 89, and on TA it's garnered a 4/5 rating after 18,000+ votes. Like the original game, Fable II depicts eras in the life of a protagonist where moral choices, fantasy combat, and questing all play major roles. One part action-RPG, one part British comedy, Fable II is often considered the best entry in the long-running franchise.

Throughout the month, we'll be looking at the game with a critical eye to discuss how it holds up, the legacy of the IP, and what we'd like to see from the rumored sequel. If you'd like to play along, join us in the TA Playlist Hub where you can submit game clips, offer and request achievement help, debate the game's merits in our forums, and much more.

We're excited to also include a giveaway with this month's TA Playlist event! Thanks to the generosity of GuardianAngelGG, who appears to be the world's biggest Fable fan, (as evidenced by his enthusiasm in the announcement story) we have not one but two $50 Xbox gift cards to give away. You will need a US account to redeem them, but they are up for grabs in one of two ways:

  • All who unlock an achievement in Fable II during March will automatically be entered to win one gift card in a random drawing.
  • The player with the best comment or video clip in the TA Playlist Hub for this month’s game, as decided by the TA Playlist Podcast hosts, will win one gift card.
We'll announce the winners on the Fable II episode of the podcast in early April. As we turn the page to Fable II, we also say goodbye to Ryse: Son of Rome as our February game of the month. We'll be recording that podcast episode this Saturday, so get your final thoughts into the forums and you just may hear your Gamertag on the show.

On to Albion!
