After a couple of games on Android phones, one-man developer codestalkers has announced their first console project Korgan
. Starting development back in 2016, Korgan
has nothing to do with Wrex or the Smashing Pumpkins, but is instead is a dungeon-crawler where players can expect to die often, at least according to the game's creator Jordi RG.
While simply being a dungeon-crawler may well be enough to interest plenty — it's not like we've been overloaded with games in the genre — it's how codestalkers is choosing to release the game that's potentially the most interesting factor. The game's prologue episode and initial multiplayer dungeons will both be playable for free. The only purchase available will be for the game's first episode, which will come with a new single-player campaign as well as new levels, modes, weapons, enemies, bosses etc all in a neat package. According to Jordi, Korgan
's development started with a very basic question: why spend money before playing a game? You need to see if that’s your game, right? Can't argue with that, Jordi! To see the game itself in action, check out the minute-long announcement trailer below.
is scheduled to release on Xbox One later this year.
