Super Mega Baseball 2 Closed Beta Coming Soon

By Rebecca Smith, 9 months ago
Super Mega Baseball 2 is due to be released in just a few months time. Before that happens, developer Metalhead Software will be holding a closed beta exclusive to Xbox One players. Ahead of the beta, the team also revealed the online multiplayer via a new trailer.

A series of closed beta tests will begin "within the next two weeks" and take place over a period of multiple weeks. Players who are interested in taking part in the tests can sign up here, but the signups are restricted to players in the United States and Canada.

The new trailer showcases some of the modes that you'll be likely to play during the beta. The modes support both competitive online play and casual co-op play. Pennant Race is a 1v1 mode where players compete against each other over a set period of time for the best score, and is the best mode to play to find a quick online match. The matchmaking system supports crossplay between Xbox One and PC players. The game's party-based play is based on the theory that all modes can be played with friends similarly to if they were sat on the couch besides you. These modes support drop-in, drop-out play. Take a look at the trailer below for more details.

Super Mega Baseball 2 will be released this spring. Will you be beta testing the game before then?
