LEGO The Incredibles Officially Announced

By Rebecca Smith,
It was yet another of those worst kept secrets in the gaming world. The existence of LEGO The Incredibles had been revealed on the back of a booklet in a LEGO kit, leaked from sources at publisher Warner Bros., and even through leaked box art. Not to anyone's surprise, the publisher decided to go down the more official route today and properly announce the game for Xbox One.

Players assume the roles of many Incredibles characters in scenes taken from both The Incredibles and the upcoming sequel. Players will need to use Bob Parr's strength, his wife Helen's elasticity, daughter Violet's invisibility, son Dash's incredible speed, and baby Jack Jack's myriad of powers as the family fights crime and apprehends villains. The action takes place across several story levels, while the game hub world includes locations like Municiberg and Nomanisan Island.

As usual, players will be able to play the game on their own or team up with a friend in two player co-op. You can take a look at some of the characters in action in the trailer below, including Frozone and Edna Mode.

The game will be released alongside The Incredibles 2 on June 15th in North America. Unfortunately, players in Europe will need to wait for both the film and the game until July 13th.
