Crysis 2 Will Not Have An Online Pass

By Rebecca Smith, 7 years ago
Rumours have been circulating for the past week that EA and Crytek's new first person shooter Crysis 2 would not include EA's controversial Online Pass, but both parties had kept quiet on the subject. Those of you who had been keeping your fingers (and toes) crossed can now uncross them; it has indeed been confirmed that Crysis 2 WILL NOT come with an Online Pass.

Crytek sent over a brief statement to CVG, simply stating "All we can say/confirm is that we aren't using Online Pass for Crysis 2." The reasons for this are unconfirmed at the moment, but to be honest, you don't really care about that do you?

If you want to have a sneak peek at the multiplayer before the game releases, why don't you download the second demo and give it a try. As it is a multiplayer demo, I will remind you that it is Gold exclusive.

Crysis 2 is due to be released on March 22nd in North America, March 24th in Australia, and March 25th for Europe. Check out the details of the limited editions if you haven't already.
