However, Hyper Universe's producer, Nimei, promises the game has a much lower barrier to entry than other MOBAs:There are no specific laning positions or metas players are required to learn before starting a match, resources are shared when killing monsters within the jungle, and all players start off with a generous learning curve buff to help them seamlessly get accustomed to the game.Matches are quick, lasting roughly 15 to 20 minutes. The game is presented as a 2D side scroller instead of having a top-down viewpoint. There are some relics of traditional MOBAs to be found, like classes, minions, towers, and jungle camps. The developer also says Hyper Universe's controls translate well to the Xbox One controller.Hyper Universe launches for Xbox One August 7th as a free-to-play game.
