Ubisoft Announces Rocksmith

Despite the recent news that Guitar Hero would not see a new title in 2011 and the underperformance sales-wise of Rock Band 3, Ubisoft announced today that they're going to make their entry into the rhythm peripheral game genre this year with their upcoming title, Rocksmith.

Rocksmith is designed to be played with an actual guitar, so it will be packaged with an input jack which will allow you to plug your guitar into your console. Ubisoft is also in discussions with various guitar manufacturers, such as Gibson, to sell a version of the game that will include a guitar for around $200.

The game will include around 45 songs and is set to feature artists such as the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Nirvana and the Animals.

Ubisoft also released a trio of trailers for Rocksmith.

The Gamer

The Musician
