One of my least favorite games on the 360 has to be the "X-Men: The Official Game". The cutscenes remind me of playing with paperdolls, not reading a comic book. The story is sloppily mashed together like it was made in a soup kitchen. The gameplay made me want to beat myself over the head with a... I don't have a blunt object blunt enough to put here.
I vowed never to purchase another X-Men video game based on a movie... and I didn't even buy that one to begin with!
Little has been offered on X-Men Origins: Wolverine, due out May 1st, but a trailer I saw earlier in the month (follow the link below) detailed exactly what I wanted to see. Claws, sheathing and unsheathing just for kicks, voice talent from the movie (nothing really new, but good to hear), and a lot of fun action-looking sequences.
My only real question is whether or not scenes in the trailer really do reflect the gameplay, or if those are cutscenes... If they are gameplay, I'm excited. Otherwise, this might only be up for a rental in my eyes.
Any thoughts on this?
