Last week we posted the multiplayer trailer for upcoming "top-down arcade shooter" Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime. Now, Atari has released screenshots showing the campaign in single player mode, with AI taking the place of your three team mates. Having taken a look at the scores at the top of the screen, it's apparent that the AI can certainly hold their own alongside the players:

Atari has also released a couple of developer diaries leading up to the release of the game. In the first one, the game's producer Jonathan Moses introduces you to the next generation of Ghostbusters and provides some of the back story for the game:

For those of you who can't watch the video, here's a short snippet of the video commentary:

Our story in Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime starts out 4,000 years ago with the burial of an old demonic deity called Dumazu the Destroyer. Fast forward to the present day, where the original team of Ghostbusters has hired a new team of rookies to help with the work of busting ghosts. Through the game you'll learn that Dumazu is trying to get back to Earth, and take over New York by using characters familiar to fans of the Ghostbusters movies. The player will then visit familiar places like the Sedgewick Hotel, and will be able to roam around the streets of New York, and even under the streets in the city sewers.
The second developer diary tells you more about the perils of becoming a Ghostbuster:

...becoming a Ghostbuster is tough. Saving New York would be easy if it wasn't for the out of control possessed orderlies, dangerous demons, freakish phantasms, screaming spectres, and things that go bump in the night. Oh, and these creatures destroy everything in New York City: huge hotels, sprawling sewers, even the graveyards - it's all toast. Overcoming these odds as a rookie Ghostbuster will require smarts, speed, and a strong appetite for hunting ghosts.
Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is due to be released on March 23rd and will cost 800 MSP.
