Shining Resonance Refrain Gameplay - Yuma Goes Dating

By Lucy Wood,
SEGA's latest gameplay video for remastered JRPG Shining Resonance Refrain demonstrates how dating works in the game and explains the difference between Original and Refrain modes. The footage is from a recent live stream, which begins around the 4:30 mark. Please note this video may contain spoilers.

Yuma can romance characters of either gender, getting their attention with gifts and then connecting with them by going on dates in the hub city of Marga. Successful romances will be rewarded with a special ending specific to the character with whom Yuma ends up.

Shining Resonance Refrain's Original Mode is essentially the same game as the 2014 Japan-only release Shining Resonance, in which the antagonistic Imperial Princess Excella is non-playable. Refrain Mode allows players to add Excella to their party, giving an alternate perspective on the story, which SEGA advises will make more sense to someone who has already played the original version.

Shining Resonance Refrain will be released on July 10th.
