Subnautica Gets a Second Dev to Speed Development

By Kelly Packard, 2 months ago
Even though Subnautica developer Unknown Worlds teased over six months ago that the underwater exploration game was "very, very close" to launch on Xbox One, the game has lingered in the Game Preview program for unreleased titles for more than two years. Unknown Worlds announced they've brought in a second developer, Panic Button Games, to speed up progress on the Xbox One version.

Subnautica 8

"We’re painfully aware of how long you’ve been waiting for us to finish the game," said Hugh Jeremy of Unknown Worlds in a post. "We’ve struggled to deliver updates quickly."

The developer is still hesitant to announce a release window because it will "inevitably be wrong" but is "super excited to get the game finished for you as soon as possible."

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Subnautica achievements.
