Rare has taken to a weekly patch schedule to regularly change and improve Sea of Thieves. For the past several weeks, these patches have often accompanied timed events under the Bilge Rats Adventures banner. The third such event is now live, titled The Sunken Curse.
In it, you and your crew will need to head back into dangerous waters in search of merpeople statues. Hear their siren song, dive into the sea, and destroy their curse-ridden statues once and for all. Three tiers of statues mean you can't do them all on your own, as some require a full crew's damage per second to overcome the regenerating statues. More Bilge Rat doubloons and rewards await those who earn the new commendations, including new attire for the style-driven swashbuckler. You can catch all there is to know about today's patch in the developer video below, or keep scrolling and open the spoiler text for the written patch notes.
The patch is sized at 1.64GB on Xbox One and 1.3GB on Windows 10. The Sunken Curse event ends on July 25th, so go get those limited-time cosmetics, maties.
