The Ork invasion is not the only problem that the Space Marines will face in the Forge World of THQ's upcoming third-person action/shooter Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. The "dark and sinister" forces of Chaos are also lurking in the shadows to cause more issues for Captain Titus and his Ultramarines.

The Chaos enemies are much more powerful and strategic than the Orks could ever hope to be. They are made especially stronger with the support of the Renegade Militia, Tainted Psykers and Bloodletter Daemons, as well as other units.

In an exclusive interview with CVG, game director Raphael van Lierop explained the reason for introducing the Chaos Forces into the game:

We think Chaos will really excite fans of the game. We know people have been wondering what tricks we have up our sleeves in terms of other enemies in the game, we've already established with our RTS side of 40K that it's about fighting more than one enemy and I think that with Space Marine we've focused on talking about the Orks so far.

With Chaos we're able to add a new twist to the game for players, giving them an enemy that is much more devious, much more dangerous in small numbers and one that is going to force the player to be think, be a little quicker on their toes and just provide a fresh challenge for them in the game.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is due to be released in August 2011.
