was announced by Drastic Games, a studio that includes former Epic Games developers. The studio calls the colorful, upcoming game a "lively mix of twin-stick shooting and rhythm-based gameplay."Soundfall
and its characters are as musical as its name would imply. It's the story of Melody, a music lover who finds herself in the world of Symphonia. Now tasked with getting home, Melody also finds herself struggling to save Symphonia from Discord, not the popular voice chat program but rather "an unfathomable darkness that threatens everything."
Music also comes into play in combat as players crawl dungeons in search of loot and foes. Players will have to pay close attention to the music because "battles synchronize to the beat, rewarding players who dash and slash in time to the beat with impressive dance-like combos." In addition, "Soundfall
’s levels, enemies, loot, and more are procedurally generated by and dynamically react to a range of musical elements, changing not only from song to song but measure to measure as tunes build and die away."
There are different playable characters with their own unique play styles and "musical palettes." Players can test out varying team compositions since Soundfall
can be experienced in up to four-player local and online co-op.
This year, Soundfall
will be showcased at PAX West, EGX and PAX Australia. The game is expected to release in 2019.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Soundfall achievements.
