Halo: The Master Chief Collection Joins Xbox Game Pass on September 1st

Microsoft chose Gamescom as the best time to broadcast the latest episode of their Inside Xbox show. During that show, they finally revealed a date for when Halo: The Master Chief Collection will arrive on Xbox Game Pass. They also released a new Xbox Game Pass app for iOS and Android users.

Xbox Game Pass 2018

Accidentally revealed for the program through a trailer back in April, players have had four months to wonder when Halo MCC would be coming to Xbox Game Pass. The answer is in just 11 days' time. On September 1st, the game will be one of several joining the program. Arriving on the same day is the long-awaited update for the title that will bring a whole host of changes, including "improved matchmaking, offline LAN, customizable installation options", quicker load times, and 4K UHD resolution for Xbox One X players. Below is the latest update trailer that cut off Major Nelson in full flow during the show.

No more clues were given for the other titles to be arriving on Xbox Game Pass on that date, but they did announce an Xbox Game Pass app that's in beta for iOS (through signups at this website) and Android users through the Google Play Store. The app allows players to access and manage their subscription anywhere, as well as browse all of the titles in the program and download them to your console from your mobile device.

Those players who have still not tried out Xbox Game Pass may be interested in the latest offer from Microsoft. From now until August 31st, new members will be able to buy their first month of Xbox Game Pass for just $2 or regional equivalent. They will then receive their second month of membership for free. You can make use of the offer through your console by heading to the Xbox Game Pass tab on the Home page.

Xbox Live Gold isn't left in the dark, though. Those who have never been Gold members before will also be able to get their first two months of membership for just $2 or regional equivalent. Both the Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold offers are available in "all Xbox Game Pass and Gold markets except Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, [and] Quebec."
