Easiest Xbox Achievement Lists from August 2018

By Mark Delaney, 1 month ago
We are officially hitting the busy season of games. In just days, we'll have new releases like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, NBA 2K19, and for lucky PS4 owners, Spider-Man. Before this deluge of huge AAA titles arrives, maybe you have time to squeeze in a few more easy completions, yes? If so, we've got another hearty list below. Nine new titles are waiting to be breezed through.

State of Anarchy: Master of Mayhem

State of Anarchy: Master of Mayhem

Price: $7.99
Completion Time: 6-8 Hours

Honestly I had to look this one up as I hadn't heard of it yet. As it turns out, it's a shmup, which fans always say is a genre that doesn't get enough love. That could also mean it's actually quite tough — perhaps too tough for many. But if you like this sort of game, there may be enough here to merit a playthrough. Just be aware that it's likely the most difficult of these easy achievement games this month.

Zazmo Arcade Pack

Zazmo Arcade Pack

Price: $9.99
Completion Time: 4-5 Hours

If you like old school arcade games, Zazmo may be worth your money and time. In less time than it takes to watch any two Lord of the Rings movies, you can earn the full 1,000 while playing a collection of games modeled after the gaming days of yesteryear. Reviews aren't so kind, as it sits with a community rating of 2.3 stars out of 5, but maybe that's just a bunch of young whippersnappers voting negatively because it doesn't look like Fortnite.

1979 Revolution: Black Friday

1979 Revolution

Price: $11.99
Completion Time: 4-5 Hours

1979 is a game unlike anything else on this list. It's less of a game and more of an "experience," if you can accept that common but confusing distinction. Telling the story of the Iranian revolution, it's a messy, political, and often jarring game that won awards on other platforms. It's finally on Xbox now, and for the history buff or adventure fan, it's the best option on this list if you're looking to just get one game.

Asemblance: Oversight

Asemblance: Oversight

Price: $9.99
Completion Time: 0-1 Hour

Remember Asemblance from a few months ago. It's the weird sci-fi walking sim that offers 1,000 G in under an hour, maybe under 30 minutes if you're really good. The sequel released on Xbox this month and yet again you can obtain the full list in an hour or less.

TETRA's Escape

TETRA's Escape

Price: $4.99
Completion Time: 1-2 Hours

Looking for a no-frills puzzler? Here's the game for you. For less than the price of lunch, you can join the nearly 80% of on-site players who have started and completed this geometrical puzzler. It doesn't have the best reviews, but just under 3 out of 5 stars by our users isn't so bad for those looking for these super quick rinses.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season

09/08/2018 - Carousel

Price: $4.99
Completion Time: 2-3 Hours

Tread a bit carefully now, as this Telltale game isn't as easy as most others that precede it. There are missable achievements and even a few collectibles, and you'll need to go down mutually exclusive story branches, which will require multiple playthroughs unless you use some smart save manipulation. Assuming you do that though, it's still quite painless and all to be finished in under three hours. It's just not as easy as we're used to with this studio.

Persian Nights: Sands of Wonders

Persian Nights: Sands of Wonders

Price: $14.99
Completion Time: 2-3 Hours

As reliable as the sunrise, there's a new Artifex Mundi title from the past month. If you've played a few of these before, you know what to expect: some good old fashioned hidden objects point and click gameplay. Far from everyone's cup of tea, those who like this sort of thing can reliably find at least one per month for the past few years on Xbox at this point. Next!

Haunted Halloween '86

Haunted Halloween '86

Price: $9.99
Completion Time: Under 1 Hour

Perhaps the easiest game on this list (if not Asemblance), Haunted Halloween '86 is a true to the era old school platformer game which nearly everyone who has started it has already finished the list. It currently sits at over 90% completion percentage among our community, with a good sample size of almost 500 players. If you're both nostalgic and achievement-driven, this is the one for you.

Don't Sink

Don't Sink

Price: $9.99
Completion Time: 1-2 Hours

Here's a nice change of pace. If we recall correctly, this is the first RTS game to make one of these lists all year. If you're feeling left out as a real-time strategy fan, now's your chance to boost your gamerscore while enjoying a perpetually under-represented genre. Few players on site have this game so far, but over half of them already finished the full 1,000 gamerscore and it has decent ratings too, sitting at 3.7 stars out of 5. That's more than most games get on these monthly roundups, though there are better fairing exceptions too.
