Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Shadows Over Bögenhafen Now Arriving This Month

By Rebecca Smith, 1 month ago
When the "Shadows Over Bögenhafen" DLC was teased for Warhammer: Vermintide 2, developer FatShark announced a release date of August 28th. As you likely noticed, the DLC didn't appear on the Xbox One due to issues that occurred during the PC beta, and you may have been left wondering when you'd be able to save the town of Bögenhafen yourself. There isn't long to wait — the DLC will be released next week.

Sat on the River Bögen, Bögenhafen is a wealthy merchant town with a busy harbour and market. While it's a magnet for traders looking to seek their fortune, it's also attracting the attention of the Nurgle who are set on spreading their corruption. They're helped by the Chaos runesword, the Blightreaper. Its original wielder, Droog Warfiend, was killed in a breach at the town, and his sword was sealed in a Sigmarite temple in one of the town's more distant districts. To save the town, players must find the sword and it must be "unmade".

Across the DLC's two new levels, players will investigate the Nurgle corruption in a crime- and disease-ridden slum known as The Pit. Their findings will then take them to Göttenplatz to find the Blightreaper. The DLC also includes new cosmetics, like hats, skins, portrait frames, and illusions, and new quests and challenges. Take a look at the DLC in action below.

Save the town from corruption when "Shadows Over Bögenhafen" is released on September 19th.
