We have a bit of a lull in between game conferences right now. Even though a lot of developers were planning for Tokyo Game Show, the majority of the titles at the show are for PlayStation or Nintendo, so this means we only had two new titles to come out of last weekend. One of them will definitely be coming to Xbox One, while the other is currently pencilled in for "consoles". Will you be watching either of these games?
Lord of the Rings MMOAthlon Games is a name that won't be familiar to gamers yet. Created in May, the company previously focused on providing expert advice on free-to-play game design and mechanics. Now they've entered into a long-term licensing agreement with Middle-earth Enterprises that allows them to develop their own online title based on The Lord of the Rings. Details on the game are scant right now, but the game will take place before the events of the famous book, aiming to introduce players to "lands, people and creatures never seen before by fans of the Tolkien universe". The game will be arriving on consoles in the future.
Industry Games is making their Xbox One debut with their "free-to-play, melee-based, 100+ player Battle Royale game". Set during the period of Olympus and the Greek Gods, players are summoned by Zeus to duke it out against all of the other Demigods. The overall winner will be awarded their "rightful place" on Olympus. Along the way, you'll be able to collect "Godlike Gear and Legendary Weapons" to increase your chances of success across each season. Matches will be available for solo players and teams of up to four players.
