Fortnite Removes Controversial Drum Gun

By Rebecca Smith, 4 months ago
The updates for Fortnite continue to role in with the content update part of patch v5.40. The main additions in the small update are the Suppressed Assault Rifle and another LTM for Battle Royale, and the new Field Agent Rio Mythic Outlander in Save The World. The latter mode also gets another weekly Horde Challenge. However, the most notable change is the removal of the controversial Drum Gun, which has now entered the dreaded vault.

Field Agent Rio

The Drum Gun had a rapid rate of fire, large magazine, and an ability to cause high amounts of damage to both buildings and other players. Whether you're one of the players for whom it was a favourite weapon, or you thought it negatively affected the balance of the game, the weapon that dominated most of Season 5 since it was introduced in July might not be gone for good. A weapon can return from the Vault, although it might have been altered if it does.
