The Division Free Weekend Begins on Xbox One

By Rebecca Smith,
If you're one of the players who haven't yet tried Massive Entertainment's online shooter Tom Clancy's The Division, now's your chance to try before you buy. Running right now and continuing through Sunday, September 16th, Xbox Live Gold members can try out the game for free as part of Microsoft's Free Weekends program.

If you've already tried out the game's free trial version, you can still join in with the free weekend. As usual, any progress made during the free weekend will carry over if you decide to purchase the full game after the weekend ends. Both the standard and Gold editions of the title are on sale at 70% off until September 20th. The game's Season Pass is discounted by 60%, and certain cosmetic items will be 50% off during the same period.

In preparation for the release of the game's sequel, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, the seventh shield has just been released in the game. The Talon shield requires players to get a Commendation Score of at least 3,000, something that can be earned by completing in-game actions like killing enemies and finding collectibles. Each shield will count towards a reward in The Division 2 — you can find out more details here.

We've got the full list of Tom Clancy's The Division achievements - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
