After a delay of a week due to the need for extra polish
and removing memory problems, the "Forsaken Shores" expansion for Sea of Thieves
will be arriving today. Players will head to a new permanent area known as The Devil’s Roar, full of new dangers and other content.
Not only will players have to avoid enemies, The Devil's Roar is home to unpredictable volcanic activity. Eruptions, earthquakes, and boiling hot geysers all add new threats for players to deal with, although the new row boat will give players more options for quickly getting out of a dangerous situation. There will be new time-limited and permanent cosmetic weapons, livery, items and clothing added in the form of the Forsaken Ashes, Ocean Crawler, and Kraken sets, as well as new tattoos and scars. All of these can be seen here
. In the meantime, you can see everything the game added today in the patch notes below:
Week 3 of the expansion will be when cargo runs are introduced. These missions will task players with delivering all kinds of goods to islands, seaposts or Outposts for a reward, but the size of that reward depends on how well you looked after that cargo along the way, because nobody wants wilted plants. After that, we'll have to wait and see what Rare has in store for the game, although their latest Tales from the Tavern podcast, held live at EGX 2018, dropped a fair number of hints for upcoming content:
"Forsaken Shores" is available now.
