SOULCALIBUR VI Returning Character Inferno Playable, But Not Online

By Nicole René, 10 days ago
Continuing with the tradition set by previous characters, Bandai Namco has released a new video and collection of screenshots for the newest addition to SOULCALIBUR VI. Despite being vacant from the series for nearly a decade, Inferno, the living incarnation of Soul Edge, has returned to the series as a playable character, and his ability to mimic other weapon styles continues.

Inferno's availability doesn't extend for online matches or tournaments, however. This can likely be explained by his skill-set which features quite a few overpowered and unblockable attacks. The video provided demonstrates his abilities through a similar weapon-style to Nightmare's, but unique moves can still be seen as well.

Fans might have assumed his arrival based on prior footage of leaked gameplay online. In previous installments such as SOULCALIBUR and SOULCALIBUR II, Inferno was represented as the central antagonist to the series. It's currently unknown if the "Hellfire of Despair" will continue his role in the future, but it's safe to assume he will remain a strong influence on the series.

SOULCALIBUR VI will be releasing on the Xbox One on October 19th.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the SOULCALIBUR VI achievements.
