Gears of War 4 Update and Achievement Status By NicoleRenee00, 10 Oct 2018 FollowtopicsGears of War 4Gears of WarXbox Game StudiosXbox Game PassLocal MultiplayerThird Person Shooter The time has come for yet another update for Gears of War 4, and The Coalition Studio has already tweeted the changes to expect in early October. There are two big adjustments that players should be aware of, and so far, opinions have been fairly varied in response.First, the the previously teased announcement of a 2v2 playlist for Season 5 has officially arrived to ranked matches. 2v2 Gnashers Only will be available to play under Competitive Ranked playlists. Adding to that, new Gear Pack content is on the way, though no detail has been given on what to expect to find within them. The Midnight Omen skin packThe second change to note is for skins. Players seeking to showcase their Syndrome and Midnight Omen weapon skills will no longer have free range to do so. The two skins will now be based on team-orientation, meaning they won't be free to select as they previously were. This decision was made based on "friend or foe" mechanics, an obvious attempt to keep friendly fire at a low and to avoid any confusion. No other skins will be affected by the outcome. And finally, Gears of War 4 was set to collect a new round of achievements in September, but this didn't quite happen. After much prodding by the community for an official answer, developers have finally reached out with a response. Expect to see the achievements to arrive either late October or early November. That's all there is to know about the current patch. Although the size is relatively small, there's been quite a lot of commotion about these few changes.
