Halloween is over with, but horror games are still on the rise. Maid of Sker
is a first-person stealth survival horror that's set to join the collection. Behind the production is Wales Interactive, most notable for their FMV game collection and the somewhat disparaged horror game Don't Knock Twice
. The upcoming release receives its origins from Welsh Folklore and the 19th century novel by R.D. Blackmore of the same name.
The team has been quick to share information about the game, giving the small introduction to the upcoming release:
Based on the haunting true story of Elizabeth Williams, you play as Thomas Evans, a musician who is thrust into a terrifying battle to save the woman he loves. Set in 1898 in and around Sker House, a real dwelling which still stands to this day and is said to be one the most haunted in Britain. Expect a story of forbidden love within a family empire driven by torture, slavery, piracy and a supernatural mystery that suffocates the grounds of Sker House
Players can expect various survival features to appear in the horror title as well. While hiding or running are certainly viable options, there will also be the implementation of traps, and even distractions. In addition to this, the team is eager to note the "cause and effect" feature, which be crucial in determining multiple unique endings for every playthrough.
There's no release date for Maid of Sker
, but we know it will be released sometime in 2019. The team is also excited to announce the arrival of physical copies as well.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Maid of Sker achievements.
