Spyro Reignited Trilogy Will Not Be Entirely On Disc

One of the few disappointments for some Spyro fans ahead of the upcoming Spyro Reignited Trilogy remaster was that only the first game would be on disc, with those fans hoping the game's delay to November meaning all three games would be fully playable on disc. While the delay has seemed to provide the time and opportunity to put parts of Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon on the disc, it has now been confirmed that a day one update will be required to play through the entirety of those two games.

Following up a behind-the-scenes interview between developer Toys For Bob and Achievement Hunter that revealed the news, publisher Activision confirmed the download requirement in a statement to IGN.

The trilogy will ship with content from each of the three games, including the entire first game and a subset of levels from games 2 and 3. In order for the full Reignited Trilogy offerings, a day one update is required.
Acitvision then clarified that the levels on the disc will be playable in full, and that the other full levels will require the update to play. However, the publisher did not clarify what levels would be playable from the disc and what ones would require the download. Hopefully at least they're in order!

It's not all bad news as Toys For Bob has released a few more screenshots from the Dino Mines and Fireworks Factory levels from Year of the Dragon for us all to enjoy.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy brings the heat to Xbox One on November 13th. You'll just need an update to experience it fully.
