Rogue-Like Adventure Woodpunk Revealed for Xbox One

You've likely heard of genres such as cyberpunk or steampunk, but Woodpunk, as the game is so aptly called, is most certainly new, featuring a world where technology is reliant on the ever-so-dependable source of—you guessed it—wood. This indie-adventure puts players in the shoes of Aquinas, a genius inventor, and his robot companion, Theo, as they struggle against an evil usurper. You can check out the teaser trailer below.

Employed by the infamous Mari Di Medici, one of the richest women in 13th century Europe, Aquinas' job is to create an all-powerful weapon to conquer the world. His attempt brings Theo to life, a robot that has the ability to create any weapons in existence. But when Medici's intentions are made clear, the duo oppose her plans, resulting in the freak accident that has turned Aquinas blind and into a "Woodborg." Now, they must work together to stop the oncoming tide of evil servants to Medici as she struggles to gain control of Theo and his critical abilities.

The team behind production is Meteorbyte Studios, first-time developers who are eager to express the various features to expect in Woodpunk. Just one of many includes local co-op mode, where Player Two will take on the role of Theo as each character uses their unique abilities for battle. Research various weapon schematics and wipe out Medici's henchmen in the process. In addition to this, there are over 1,400 weapons to collect, both melee and ranged, and every item within the map can be destroyed for the materials to build them.

We don't have a release window just yet, but expect to see Woodpunk on Xbox One in 2019.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Woodpunk achievements.
