Microsoft Studios has announced they are in the process of sunsetting Age of Empires: Castle Siege. Purchases have already been disabled in the Windows real-time strategy game, refunds for recent purchases will be going out, and the servers will close in May 2019.
All of the achievements in the three versions of Castle Siege require an online connection and will be discontinued when the servers close. For the full list of achievements or help with the best way to earn them, see the relevant version:
Microsoft also stated that gold is no longer purchasable with money, although players may continue to earn their daily gold in-game. Any purchases made in the past six months, or since May 13th, will be refunded. The official Castle Siege forums will close in one month on December 18th, 2018.
Lastly, the most important date to note is the day the servers will officially shut down, which is May 13th, 2019. Presumably, the game will also be delisted sometime between now and the shutdown date, so those interested in testing out the title before it's gone may want to download it now.
