Ashe Arrives in Latest Overwatch Patch

By Rebecca Smith, 3 months ago
Blizzard Entertainment has gotten into the habit of updating Overwatch once a month with new content and bug fixes. This week, the latest patch arrived for the game, bringing new hero Ashe and her arsenal of weapons, as well as two new Overwatch achievements.

Ashe

Ashe is an offensive hero who is able to take enemies down at range, or defeat groups with "high area-of-effect burst damage". She can do the former with her Viper, a lever-action rifle that can be fired at high speed in a semi-automatic mode, or more precisely when aiming down sights. The latter is helped by her secondary weapon, the Coach Gun. The high-impact sidearm works best at short-range, knocking enemies backwards. It can also be used to knock herself backwards as a quick way of evading enemies. Ashe is armed with Dynamite too, causing damage across a wide radius after a delay — any enemies caught in its damage radius will also be set on fire. Finally, her ultimate ability is B.O.B., her companion that pushes his way through to the backline where he'll rough up targets. She brings two new achievements with her for a total of 30 Gamerscore:

Name Description Gamerscore
Short Fuse Kill an enemy by shooting Ashe’s Dynamite from at least 30 meters away in Quick or Competitive Play. 15
Served Up Get a killing blow as Ashe on an enemy knocked into the air by B.O.B. in Quick or Competitive Play. 15
As well as the new hero, the patch brought along several changes to existing heroes, a couple of map updates, and a variety of bug fixes across the AI, heroes, hero gallery, maps, and social aspects of the game. You can see all of the patch notes in the spoiler below, as well as a brief overview of the main changes to the heroes in the trailer.
