Railway Empire Update and DLC Showcases Great Britain and Ireland

By Nicole René, 1 month ago
The gift-giving season is upon us, and Gaming Minds knew just what to get their loyal, train loving fans. Players of Railway Empire are receiving two new items this December, one in the form of a new DLC, and the other in the form of a free update.

Multiple additions are arriving with the 1.7 Update, one of which being the new platform customization. Stations and warehouses have both received upgradeable signal stations, allowing for easier handling of stopping locations and managing busy stations over vacant ones. Acquiring companies has also become significantly easier, as the update allows players to 100% own their company without a full merger. The trade off for this is the arrival of the "Analyst," a staff member who deliberately falsifies reports and manipulates the stock market.

But be sure to keep your head financially afloat, because there's more to see with the DLC. This month's scenic add-on takes players to the lovely British Isles, with trains heading through both Great Britain and Ireland. Gaming Minds specifically noted the success of their previous three location based DLCs, and were excited to reveal the new "Great Britain and Ireland" add-on because of it, with high hopes in regards to its success. You can check out the scenery yourself in the trailer below.

Fans can catch a train to Ireland and Britain when both the "Great Britain and Ireland" DLC and Update 1.7 arrives on December 14th. The team has hinted that another DLC, featuring both France and Germany, will be released at a later date.
