Earlier today, we speculated whether or not Bioware's big reveal at The Game Awards
would include the return of a fan-favorite series. Luckily, the team delivered with a brand new teaser trailer. We may not have a name, but we do have a confirmation of a new Dragon Age
title on the way.
Details are lacking, but it's clear to see where the story heads next. The events of Dragon Age: Inquisition
's "Trespasser" will continue where players left off — on the hunt for the Dread Wolf. As expected, Solas will be reappearing in the latest installment, likely serving as the main antagonist to the story as the rest of the details unfold in the future. No other information has been given, but Mark Darrah, Bioware's executive producer, was willing to share a bit about the development of the new release:
I can tell you we have been building a new team around a core of Dragon Age veterans, people I’ve worked with on Dragon Age, Jade Empire, and some of whom I’ve worked with since the Baldur’s Gate days. While I have been focused on Anthem, the rest of the team has been hard at work exploring ways to push BioWare’s storytelling to the next level.
A release date is still a very long ways away. But fans can rejoice in the fact that Dragon Age 4
isn't just a rumor. Are you excited to see what comes next for the series?
