An unexpected reveal at this year's Game Awards was a tie-in game for the upcoming new season of Netflix's wildly popular Stranger Things
. Last year, in the lead up to the release of Season Two, BonusXP released a Stranger Things
game to mobiles based around the show's first season and featuring Sheriff Hopper searching for different characters around Hawkins. Using retro graphics and inspired heavily by other 80's games, the game received critical praise and millions of downloads. Now, they're at it again with a new game to tie into the show's third season. The trailer shown at The Game Awards doesn't reveal much but does show that this new game will also have a suitably retro vibe, but this time from an isometric perspective. It's promised to come to "all platforms" so we can hope that includes Xbox One.
Although a release date hasn't been confirmed we'd expect Stranger Things 3: The Game
to come out close to the show's own release, which is currently expected around summer 2019.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Stranger Things 3: The Game achievements.
