We've had the first month of our Xbox Gameplay Chart
and it's time to find out which game has made it to the Christmas #1 slot. Will it be Red Dead Redemption 2
again? Has it been usurped by another title? You can take a look at the top 40 most played games in the full chart below to see for yourself.
Many of you likely won't be surprised to see Red Dead Redemption 2
has kept the top spot for Christmas. However, its popularity is most definitely decreasing and it is the closest gap we have seen between that title and Fortnite
in #2. Will we see a new number one to go into 2019? Elsewhere in the top 10, FIFA 19
climbs three spots as its FUTMAS event continues. In fact, that may even be the reason FIFA 18
climbs back into the top 40 at #36.
Our most significant climbers this week were Halo 5
that climbs six spots to #26, probably because the Holiday Fiesta event continues onwards. Shadow of the Tomb Raider
also climbs five spots to #31 thanks to the release of "The Pillar" DLC. On the other hand, those that fell down the chart did so in a more spectacular style. New releases Ashen
both drop more than ten places as players move on to different titles, while the end of the free weekend sees Monster Hunter: World
drop nine places.
This week's new entries are mostly thanks to Xbox Game Pass. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
and Pro Evolution Soccer 2019
were both added to the programme last week and debut at #16 and #32 respectively. Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition
was also a new entry to the program but just misses out on a spot in the chart. Meanwhile, Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna)
was the new Games With Gold title for the middle of the month and debuts at #21.
