Two days ago, we heard that The Last Night
had encountered development woes that have resulted in the studio seeking funding to enable them to continue to create the title. Unfortunately it seems like this wasn't the only game to suffer in 2018. Apocalyptic sidescrolling adventure Buck
has also gone through "development hell", but according to the latest developer update from the game's creator Gal Kfir, the title will continue to have a future this year.
Their problems started when Steam changed the way that Early Access games are handled in their store, resulting in reduced exposure for the title. One of the team also had to leave the studio for personal issues. In more positive news, though, the team has completely redesigned the game in a new game engine leading to a number of improvements across the board. The team will be releasing this new version of the game on Early Access later this year. To hear a fuller version of the events of 2018 and the future of the game, you can see the full 10 minute update below.
There's no release window yet for the title, but at least its future looks far more promising.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Buck achievements.
