Developer Psyonix has made a very important announcement and one that is sure to please many Rocket League players across the world. The ability to take on players on other platforms has finally gone live. This means PlayStation 4 (yes, PlayStation 4), Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam PC players can be randomly matchmade with each other in any of the online match types.
Just to be sure that you have Cross-Platform play enabled — make sure you head to the Main Menu, pick Options, then check the "Cross-Platform Play" box in the Gameplay tab. It's as easy as that. The option for cross-platform parties will be coming in the next update for the game, but the release date and more specific information is yet to announced. For now, however, you can still play with friends on other platforms ahead of the cross-platform parties release. All you need to do is select Play from the Main Menu, select Private Match, Create or Join Private Match, and away you go.
Dive into Rocket League and square off against opponents on the different platforms right now.
