Fantasy RPG Outward Dev Diary Chronicles the Travels of the Everyman

By Mark Delaney, 1 month ago
Even fans of RPGs would have to admit the genre tends to rely on chronicling the "Chosen One" or some eons-old prophecy. The absence of that trope is what makes Outward so interesting. In it, you aren't the fabled hero born to save the realm. You're just a person like any other, going on an adventure, who is thrust into events bigger than you could've anticipated.

The latest dev diary for Outward looks at what it's like to travel in a fantastical world without some life-saving relic or sword of destiny.

Outward is due on consoles on March 26th.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Outward achievements.
