A Look Back at the Tales Series – JRPGs That You May Have Missed Entirely

By Ethan Anderson,
Anyone who loves JRPGs knows that Xbox isn't exactly the console of choice if you want to have options in that genre. Back in 2008, Tales of Vesperia launching as an Xbox 360 exclusive aimed to somewhat remedy that issue. It was met with mostly positive reviews, and it briefly helped fill that JRPG void. However, a superior version of the game released just a year later with additional content on PS3 in Japan. It's been 11 years now, and we've finally received that version and then some in the form of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition.

With all 15 other mainline Tales games having never made it to Xbox, I wanted to give a short rundown of certain aspects of the series for those who may not have ever had the chance to play any of the games at all.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is available now on Xbox One. It may just be very wishful thinking as a fan of the franchise, but perhaps Tales games could make a return to Xbox sometime in the future.
