Ubisoft recently hosted a live stream lead by Community Developer Petter Martensson for Tom Clancy's The Division 2, which shows off over an hour of gameplay focusing on multiplayer in the Dark Zones and a new PvP mode – Conflict.
Creative Director Julian Gerighty and Game Director Mathias Karlson provide commentary as they touch on the reasons for having three Dark Zones, their locations, "going rogue," and other topics of that nature. Following that segment, Senior Online Infrastructure Engineer Jan Harasym and Senior Gameplay Programmer Duran Fatih Gungor answer questions regarding the servers and anti-cheat precautions. The final duo of Senior Lead Designer Keith Evans and Creative Director Terry Spier discuss their approach to fairness. One of the ways the team aims to make PvP more fair is the "normalisation" of stats to bring players to a more level playing field. With that being said, there are also Occupied Dark Zones that let players roam around with their stats and builds untouched.
Explore the new Dark Zones when The Division 2 launches on March 15th.
We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Tom Clancy's The Division 2 achievements.
