Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Update Adds Classic and Loot Weapons for Zombies

By Rebecca Smith, 17 days ago
Another week, another update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in the form of patch 1.12. This time, there's a lot of changes coming to all three game modes, including more Featured Playlists in Multiplayer, tuning changes and regional playlists in Blackout, and Classic and loot weapons for Zombies.

Pass Update 3

General Changes

Firstly, for the next four weeks, the Barbarians Event in the Black Market will add 25 new loot Tiers that sit below those in the Operation Absolute Zero stream, meaning twice as many rewards for the same amount of work. The new rewards include Outfits, Gestures, and Calling Cards. There's also a new Reactive Camo for the Hades LMG, and a new weapon in the form of the KAP 45 full-auto pistol. See the spoiler below for the full patch notes for the event.

Multiplayer

In Multiplayer, Blackjack's Gun Game joins the Featured Playlists. This variant of Gun Game adds the KAP 45 full-auto pistol as one of the weapons. Hardcore Moshpit has also been added to the Featured category for the first time, while Endurance Chaos Moshpit makes its return. The other Featured Playlists include Mercenary Capture Moshpit and Safeguard.

The patch also brings along a selection of gameplay improvements that can be seen in the full patch notes in the spoiler below. Meanwhile, Treyarch promises that they're undergoing a "weapon balancing pass" in Core and Hardcore modes for their next update (1.13), as well as potentially changing some of the tuning for Attachments.

Zombies

Classic and loot weapons, such as the MP 40, Grav, Daemon 3XB, SWAT RFT, and KAP 45, have been introduced to the Mystery Box in all Zombie maps. The first two of those weapons, the MP 40 and Grav, will also get camo progression in the Armory. All loot weapons will come with progression and customisation in the Armory too once players have unlocked the weapons in the Black Market.

Like the Multiplayer mode, there is a selection of gameplay improvements that can be seen in the full patch notes in the spoiler below. Future plans for the mode include support for Mastery Camos (Gold, Diamond, and Dark Matter), Mastercrafts, Reactive Camos, and Black Market camos, plus a new Gauntlet will be arriving soon.

Blackout

There weren't any major feature changes to Blackout mode this week, just the gameplay improvements that focused on Armor, Concussion Grenades, and Cluster Grenades. These can be seen in the full patch notes in the spoiler below. Beginning at the end of last week, though, the developer has been testing a "region-based rotating Featured Playlist" that rotates multiple times each week. The aim of this is to improve matchmaking for "lower-population server regions", such as South America and South Africa.
