Xbox Game Pass has shifted up its teasing methods after the last "leaked email" turned out to be a trolling fake. We'll almost certainly find out what they're getting at later today, but that won't stop us guessing ahead of time.
The Xbox Game Pass Twitter profile picture has a new friend, in the form of a massive shadowy moon. What's more, the moon is gradually eclipsing the profile logo over the course of the day:
What does it all mean?
There are a couple of theories around as to which game may be added during tonight's Inside Xbox show, such as Prey (thanks to its Moon-related DLC) or even a Game Pass related announcement about Obsidian's The Outer Worlds. We'll almost certainly hear something about the latter during Inside Xbox anyway if Obsidian's Communications Director is to be believed:
But the most likely answer is the addition of Shadow of the Tomb Raider to the Game Pass fold. Shadow's key art is all related to an eclipse, and an approaching eclipse is the backdrop to a sizeable portion of the game. What's more, the rest of the rebooted series has entered the service with Tomb Raider - Definitive Edition arriving just last week.
Beyond that, Shadow didn't perform particularly well at retail so it would make sense for Square Enix to collaborate on getting more people playing the game, especially with a lot of premium content on offer.
Of course, eclipses aren't the most uncommon sight in video games. Maybe it's Majora's Mask? A man can dream...
