WarThunder Calls Out PlayStation on Console Cross-Play

By Sam Quirke, 10 days ago
War Thunder was a fore-runner of free-to-play and cross-play on console, but like many games they're still waiting on Sony to do the right thing and allow PlayStation players to meet their Xbox counterparts on the battlefield. The official Twitter account put the console giant on blast pretty bluntly in a tweet, which has gained a pretty solid crowd on Reddit.

Many players are questioning why this veteran of the free-to-play industry has been passed over, though we suspect that the motivation to offer cross-play in Fortnite was more of a financial and reputational necessity to Sony, rather than simply picking a cross-play title at random.

What remains to be seen is whether War Thunder continue this campaign and if so, whether they can gain enough traction to draw Sony to the negotiation table.
