Like all official Xbox One controllers, the Xbox Adaptive Controller will work with every Xbox One game in existence. However, anything that streamlines the experience of using a customisable controller with each new title would definitely be welcomed by the person using it. Metro Exodus developer 4A Games has taken that into consideration and has worked closely with Microsoft to "streamline" the gaming experience with the controller.
When the game first detects the controller, players will see an in-game notification. Clicking on that notification opens the Xbox Accessories app where players can map the buttons and create a custom profile. Once that's done, the Controller Options Menu in the game will be updated to reflect the controller layout, as well as there being an option to deeplink to the Xbox Accessories app. All of these features look to streamline the gaming experience, and make things easier and less intimidating for players using the controller.
