This Weekend's Xbox Live Gold Free Play Days: The Halo Wars Series

By Sam Quirke, 1 month ago
As part of a player's Xbox Live Gold subscription, one or more games are offered for players to try out during Xbox Live Gold Free Play Days. The Free Play Days tend to run over a weekend, and this weekend is no exception. We've just picked up on our scanners that from today, Xbox Live Gold members can try out Halo Wars: Definitive Edition and Halo Wars 2.

Halo Wars 2

During the Free Play Days, players can unlock achievements. While the games are available to try in their entirety, the first Halo Wars can take up to 30 hours to complete while Halo Wars 2 is currently ranked between 50-60 hours for a full completion even before DLC — so be aware that you're unlikely to get the full completion in a weekend. The free trial is expected to last until 11:59 PST on Sunday 24th. You can find download links for both games here.

If you decide you like the games and want to play them after the Free Play Days are over, the games are currently included in the Xbox Game Pass.
