Last Friday, news broke that players were becoming unhappy with certain aspects of the Operation Grand Heist season in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, more specifically the implementation of Cases, the game's loot boxes. Developer Treyarch listened to the feedback and they've made some changes that will be ready for Xbox One players when the update goes live tomorrow.
Players can now earn Cases by completing Tiers at the end of the Contraband stream. At the same time, players will earn double the amount of progress towards Cases unlocked through gameplay. Treyarch has reverted back to an earlier version of the Tier Skips too, so these now grant a Case for each Tier across all game modes.
When Treyarch implemented the system on PlayStation 4 last Tuesday, the aim was to allow players to unlock content before they hit Tier 100. Unfortunately this meant that progress after Tier 100 was affected negatively. These changes should help to solve that problem.
An update on Friday also introduced Close Quarters Frenzy Quads as a Featured Playlist in Blackout. Here, players team up to battle their enemies using only SMGs, pistols, shotguns, melee attacks, and launchers. The Collapse also happens at a faster speed. The winner, of course, is the last team standing.
Close Quarters Frenzy Quads is available right now. Operation Grand Heist will begin tomorrow, February 26th, for Xbox One players — you can find more details on that here.
