Xbox Gameplay Chart: Week Ending February 24th, 2019 By Rebecca Smith, 25 Feb 2019 CommentsApex Legends is currently capturing players' hearts, having smashed its way to the top of the chart for the last two weeks. This week its only real challenger is Anthem, but is that enough to topple Respawn's free-to-play Battle Royale game from the top spot? You can find out for yourself by taking a look at the gameplay chart and the top 40 most played games below.PositionGamePublisherLast week1 Apex LegendsElectronic Arts12 FortniteEpic Games23 AnthemElectronic Arts184 Crackdown 3: CampaignMicrosoft Studios35 Call of Duty: Black Ops 4Activision46 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six SiegeUbisoft87 Red Dead Redemption 2Rockstar58 FIFA 19Electronic Arts69 Forza Horizon 4Microsoft Studios710 Grand Theft Auto VRockstar911 Rocket LeaguePsyonix1112 MinecraftMicrosoft Studios1213 SUPER BOMBERMAN RKonami Digital Entertainment Inc.1614 Destiny 2Activision1015 Overwatch: Origins EditionBlizzard Entertainment1516 PlayerUnknown's BattlegroundsMicrosoft1417 Battlefield VElectronic Arts1318 ROBLOXRoblox Corporation2019 NBA 2K192K Sports1920 Shadow of the Tomb RaiderSquare Enix1721 Assassin's Creed OdysseyUbisoft2422 Halo: The Master Chief CollectionMicrosoft Studios2623 KINGDOM HEARTS IIISquare Enix2124 Resident Evil 2Capcom Entertainment Inc.2325 Sea of ThievesMicrosoft Studios2526 Gears of War 4Microsoft Studios2827 Metro ExodusDeep Silver3228 Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi AcademyLucasArts-29 Madden NFL 19EA Games3030 Far Cry New DawnUbisoft3731 SMITEHi-Rez Studios2732 ARK: Survival EvolvedReverb Publishing3133 Minecraft: Xbox One EditionMicrosoft Studios3434 Crackdown 3: Wrecking ZoneMicrosoft Studios2235 Halo 5: GuardiansMicrosoft Studios3636 Fallout 76Bethesda SoftworksRE37 WarframeDigital Extremes3538 Titanfall 2Electronic Arts3339 Star Wars Battlefront IIElectronic ArtsRE40 Far Cry 5UbisoftREChart information is copyright TrueGaming Network. The margin between that title and Fortnite in #2 is gradually closing, but it will still likely be a few weeks before the numbers become truly competitive. Anthem climbs 15 spots after its full worldwide release. This just goes to show that digital sales are becoming far more prevalent seeing as the game comfortably takes #3 despite poor physical sales. Some of last week's new releases fare a bit better this week too. Metro Exodus climbs five spots to #32, while Far Cry New Dawn climbs seven spots to #30, both increasing their player numbers to do so. However, neither title seems to be doing terribly well in the charts with far lower player numbers than expected. Still, they're not doing as badly as Crackdown 3: Wrecking Zone, which plummets 12 places to #34 despite being available on Xbox Game Pass. Developer Sumo Digital promises updates will be coming soon, but will it be too late to save the player base? In contrast, Crackdown 3: Campaign stays near the top of the chart at #4.At the bottom of the chart, Fallout 76 bounces back in at #36, possibly due to heavy discounting at many retailers and the promise of new content coming soon. Star Wars Battlefront II climbs a couple of places to re-enter the chart at #39, while the new-game effect is in full swing with the Far Cry franchise — Far Cry 5 climbs back into the chart at #40.As Anthem was the only notable retail release this week, it's left to Xbox Game Pass and Games With Gold to try and make up the new entries. The latter obliges as Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy makes its debut in the chart at #28, proving nostalgia is still a big draw. None of the new Game Pass entries — Batman: Return to Arkham or Headlander — come anywhere near the chart, while the Trials Rising open beta narrowly misses out on a top 40 spot. For next week's chart, there are notable new retail releases in the form of Trials Rising, Dead or Alive 6, DiRT Rally 2.0, and The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame. There will be a new Xbox Game With Gold (we'll likely find out what that is tomorrow), and there are two new Xbox Game Pass games: Alien Isolation and The Walking Dead: Season Two. Will we see any of these in the chart next week?
