Fortnite Update Sends Players on a Treasure Hunt

By Rebecca Smith, 20 days ago
Everybody loves a treasure hunt, especially when there's the promise of a big prize at the end of it. Epic Games is hoping their players feel the same way because the latest update, v8.01, has introduced buried treasure to Fortnite's Battle Royale mode. Of course, Save the World and Creative modes don't miss out on new content either.

Buried Treasure

A new item has been added to Battle Royale — a treasure map. Players can hold one map at a time and can use it to track down buried chests that contain legendary loot. These must then be dug up with a pickaxe. The maps themselves can be found in floor loot and other chests. The mode also gets a new limited time mode in the form of Slide duos, where everybody has ice blocks on their feet and unlimited ammo for their Grapplers.

Save The World players get a new Highland Warrior Wildcat soldier, while Creative players get the use of more sprays, new weapons, and new prefab elements. To see a full list of changes and additions made with the patch, you can check out the patch notes here.
