CD Projekt RED Retrospective Concludes with Cyberpunk 2077

By Rebecca Smith, 18 days ago
A few days ago, CD Projekt RED founder Marcin Iwinski explained how the studio came to be, from the days where he distributed games through the foundation of the studio and on to the development of their most famous franchise. Today, three more videos conclude the studio retrospective and bring us right up to the present day.

The first video takes a closer look the The Witcher, including how the franchise came to be and the history of its famous protagonist, Geralt of Rivia.

The next video looks more closely at the franchise's spin-offs, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. Introduced in The Witcher 3, GWENT became so popular that it created its own stand-alone title, before then creating another campaign-based spin-off.

Cyberpunk 2077 is very different to anything from The Witcher universe and is the studio's next project. The title was re-introduced to players at E3 2018, and the final video looks at what the team has been doing during those years of silence.

Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a release window, but the studio and its upcoming title are expected to make an appearance at E3 2019.
