Free Title "One Leaves" is Available Now

By Rebecca Smith,
Last week, an advert for an unannounced title, One Leaves, mysteriously appeared, before disappearing just as quickly. Now, with just as much fanfare, the free title has been released onto the Microsoft Store in the US, but what is it?

The single-player title puts players in the middle of a "hellish labyrinth", blocked in by a steel cage. Three other AI-controlled characters are trapped in the same labyrinth, but only one person will be able to escape. To get out, you'll need to make your way through a series of abandoned and seemingly haunted buildings, such as a high school, hospital, morgue, and "seemingly the depths of hell itself" as you find clues, avoid traps, and locate the exit.

The title has been sponsored by The Real Cost, a tobacco prevention scheme run by the US Food and Drug Administration. Initially created to educate teenagers on the risks of smoking cigarettes, the campaign has expanded in recent years to include e-cigarettes and smokeless tobacco. The game is meant to represent the fact that of four teenagers that vow to stop smoking, three of these don't manage to do so.

Players who have tried it so far have stated it is a quick and relatively easy completion, so if you're looking for a Gamerscore boost, it's worth giving the game a go. Current completion estimates are around the 2-3 hour mark.

What is this place?!

To your horror, you find yourself in a hellish labyrinth, trapped behind a steel cage. There are three others unfortunate enough to join you.

A voice explains that only one of you will get out.

You will need to breathlessly run through an abandoned high school, a creepy hospital, a terrifying morgue and seemingly the depths of hell itself. Racing against your peers, you will need to keep your wits about you, solve insidious clues, avoid demonic obstacles and ultimately find your way to the exit – before it’s too late.

Four will enter, but only one will leave. Will it be you?

The game is available now on Xbox One and Windows 10 as a Play Anywhere title in the US. The game has been rated for other regions, so there is a chance it will be released outside of the US at a later date.
