If you're anything like me, you'll have received a Windows 10 update at some point over the last few days. While I'm sure there are a few more bug fixes and improvements behind the scenes that haven't been revealed, Major Nelson did reveal that the latest version of the Windows 10 Game bar will now display the battery status of any connected Xbox One controller, so there's no more wondering how much life your controller has left before it dies.

Windows 10 controller update

To view the battery life on your controller, all you have to do is to hit either the Xbox button on the controller or Win+G on your keyboard to bring up the Game bar. To the right of the time, players will now see a battery icon.

The update is available now.
